a look at my running list of releases for Good Experimental Music

When I started the Best Experimental Releases column (RIP) on Bandcamp back in 2019, I made a document to keep track of releases coming out each month. I've pretty much kept that going since then, with a few breaks. It's made mostly from emails I get about forthcoming releases - I copy/paste the artist/title/date (love it when all that is in the subject line!), grab the audio if it's offered, and send back a thank you. (I have not always kept up with the thank yous, and I am not great at remembering to put things in from other messaging (IG, FB, etc) but I try).

I don't mess with alphabetizing or organizing these - I wish I had the time! I just put them in this rather ugly list and refer back to it as I pick stuff for the column. I also search for stuff, or hear about things other ways, and I try to add those to this list, though they often end up just in my head or on my phone's notes app. Not everything in here is experimental - sometimes I just add a new release I want to remember for whatever reason.

Anyway, this is no big deal, but I thought some people might be interested to see how much stuff ends up in the list. Below is what I've got so far that's coming out in September and October. Btw, if you sent me something and you don't see it here, remind me if you can and I'll get on it. Thanks!

EDIT: A friend pointed out that I have a 2025 Necks release on here, and I checked my email and indeed I got that wrong, and I have no idea how. Leaving it in to show what doing this does to my brain, haha.
